Have some great news! I was finally able to purchase some very good hosting late last night. So far the service has been phenomenal. I was also able to purchase a domain – QuietMelodies. I know that it’s not QuietMusic, but unfortunately, the .com was taken. I prefer to stay away from anything other than .com domains, so wound up with QuietMelodies. I do hope that everyone approves =-).
I’ll be setting up the scripting on the site the next couple of days, and then launch the site for everyone to use. Please let me know if you can think of anything I should add while doing the actual setup itself, as it will be much easier to do before the actual launch.

I went to the site and noticed it has a log in. I think thats an excellent idea in lieu of what went down with your Rapidshare account. I don’t mind logging in and if it’ll keep out the folks who mean you harm then its a good idea.

May be if you lower the sample quality to 128kb will be faster to upload and take less hosting size without compromising quality…?

Also, I have been asked to perform some quiet background piano at a restaurant in my city next Friday and Sunday. I have learned the melodies of some of my favourite new age pieces by ear and will be using them in my setlist. Thanks to you, Quietmusic, for providing such fantastic music! Without this blog, I don’t know what I would have played ;) Specifically I’ll be playing some Ron Korb, Gnomusy and David Lanz.

Sorry it’s taken so long to reply. The secondary computer that I’m now using wasn’t available a couple of days ago. I’ll be getting the uploads going once more, later today. So hopefully everything will work out ok.

QuietMelodies is where it’s all going to really start back with. I’ll be uploading the files I’ve been able to recover from my drive today, and will start posting them once they are uploaded. Once we get a good base going, everyone will be allowed to post, so if you wish to start posting some of the stuff you downloaded from QuietMusic until a better bitrate can be uploaded, that would be awesome =_).

Yes, the hosting is up, but because of my main computer going down, I’ve been unable to finalize the coding needed to bring the portal online. Hopefully the new motherboard will arrive on Friday and I’ll be able to finish up with teh coding itself.

Thank you very much for your kind support. I’m working right now on the new scripting for the portal. It’s very slow going as it has to be translated from Russian to English, and then some modifications have to be done. I hope to have a working model running by late tonight, so keep your eyeballs peeled =-).
