Hey there, this is a fantastic blog! The collection of David Lanz is especially appreciated!

I was wondering if you have anything from Ron Korb, specifically “Celtic Skye”, “Tears of the Sun”, “Rainforest Flute”, “Behind The Mask” or “Our Native Land”. If you don’t know much about Korb, here’s more info:

http://www.ronkorb.com/ron.frameset.html

Don’t worry too much about it if you don’t already have them although Korb’s music is top notch, and would make a great addition to your already great blog! I have some of his other albums in good quality if you would like me to send links.

Thanks for sharing!

Thank you very much! My latest upload is almost finished =_). I only have a couple of Ron Korb’s CD’s, so if you could toss me some links that would be great!

This blog is pretty cool.I’ve been fervently looking for an album of David Arkenstone’s entitled “Quest of the dream warrior” for a while but haven’t succeeded in finding it yet.Can someone kindly post the rapidshare links to this album?

quietmusic

Thank you very much for the kind words! I’ve got a download I grabbed a very long time ago of “Quest of the Dream Warrior” Unfortunately, it’s a rather low bitrate, but I’m going to upload it anyway, as it seems the album is more than a little difficult to find.

I love his music as well! Unfortunately, I have not been able to locate it up until now. However, since you requested it, I will try to find something for you =_).

Just discovered your site…lovely music. My request would be for Celtic Harp music which I find most relaxing.

Thank you so much for the pleasant comments! Glad you like the Ernesto Cortazar albums. They came as a request, and I have to say, that it had been a while since I had listened to him. Quiet music personified =-).

np, thanks for checking.
You may want to also check the song listings for “Brian Crain-Piano And Cello Duet…… & Inside The Melody”, the “listings” are reversed (plus, three songs were not listed but are included with Inside The Melody, 15. Butterfly Waltz, 16. Northern Lights & 17. A Walk In The Forest.
I love his music, thank you so much for making them available!!!!!

@Shadow
I’ve updated the tracklistings for both albums. In the process, learned a nifty trick with WinRar that will generate an actual listing of the archive itself. So thank you both for the heads up with the actual listings, and for giving me the chance to learn something new!

Thank you so much for the kind words. It’s people like you that make all this work worth it, lol. =-). I’ve got quite a few Raphael albums, but not that particular one. Let me see what I can find for you =-).

I like your blog and I like the tone of it. You are responsive and kind and it seems to have drawn a similarly inclined readership. Not a request, but really just a suggestion to give Oysten Sevag a listen. His “Visual” album is really very nice.

the image embedding for this comment probably won’t work, but just in case :)

5 03 2009
quietmusic

@Pbriggsiam
First, let me thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kind words. I’m a firm believer in sharing the good things in life. About Oysten Sevag – I’ve heard a few of his pieces, but don’t have any of his albums. It’s actually quite interesting that you mention him, because what originally attracted me to this type of music was a program I heard on the radio a few years ago. The show was called “Quiet Music” and as you can see, it made a huge impact on me personally. One of the stars of the show was Oysten Sevag. I’m going to see what I can find of his work, and definitely give it a listen again. You really took me down memory lane with that one =-).

Very nice website, and the music is of my taste :-)

Like Medina, I am also looking for Mehdi. Why is his music so hard to find? Please do something about it.

@Mussiqa
Thank you very much! Hope you visit often =_).

9 03 2009
quietmusic

@Mum
The reason his music is so hard to find is really rather simple. Everytime he finds it shared somewhere, there is an immediate request for it to be taken down. My biggest complaint with that, is simply, I cannot purchase the albums anymore. And believe me, I’ve tried.

10 03 2009
Mum

You are absolutely right that Mehdi is not even available at music shops. Most of us do purchase music on CDs after checking it out. Enough gripe!

I enjoy your aesthetics. Keep it going.

Best regards.

10 03 2009
quietmusic

@Mum
I do wish there was something I could do to help you in regards to Mehdi. Unfortunately, that’s not possible.

I would like to thank you for your words of encouragement. Hope you enjoy the music you find here =-).

Dear QuietMusic,
This is a terrific site, I added it recently to my favourite, all the links are working, wish you continuous success…
I wonder if I can request an album(s) for Steve Haun (inside the sky), it contains a wonderful track called (Reflections). I searched the net for hours but I couldn’t find a free link! Could u please, your efforts will be much appreciated.
Also, I have an old cassette that contains the most beautiful classic I’ve ever heard, but due to its old age I wanted to have the tracks as MP3 quality, but I do not know the tracks names, I wonder if I send u a ripped part of the tracks would u be able to know & name them & send me the links for their albums?
For this I need your email to send attachments.
Regards,

@MusicMad
Thank you so much for your kind words. They mean the world to me. In regards to your request for Steve Haun – Inside The Sky, I’ve never heard of him, but I will be more than willing to see what I can find for you. As to your cassette, you’re more than welcome to upload what you have to one of the remote file hosting sites. I personally recommend rapidshare as they have the best security, and the best speed. I can’t promise that I will be able to identify everything on your tape, but I will be more than willing to give it a shot. And if you like, I’ll be more than happy to post your samples here on QuietMusic in hopes that some of my regular readers might recognize some of the tracks.

Thanks again for your kind words, and I look forward to hearing from you.

Unfortunately, you can’t post here. The way that the admin is setup, only I’m allowed to post. However, as I mentioned in my earlier reply to you. You’re more than welcome to upload the files to one of the remote file hosting sites and then I’ll be more than willing to post them for you. Alsol, please check your inbox. I’ve sent you an email. =-)

Hi
I just found this blog and it’s great. I will enjoy some of Ron Boots albums.

Is any chance for Tangerine Dream’s “Kyoto” (1983) & “Jeanne D’Arc” (2005). Also Klaus Schulze’s “Goes Classic”.

Terrific efforts Bright!

Have been looking for visitors Book to leave some comments but shall do here for the timebeing

First Of all Congratulations on this great effort. 10/10 . You also have included a request page !! :)

Very well laid out website. Intutive and pleasant and full of music for the soul. I am going to devour all your posts. Haven’t listened to many most of the artists here, but i can bet on your music sensibilties, that the albums here must be Good.

A BIG THANK YOU, FOR SHARING WITH SO MANY OF US.

May this Site live forever.

@Reza
Thank you very much for your kind comments. Glad to see someone else who enjoys Ron Boots. I’ve got some of Tangerine Dreams stuff, the problem is that they put out so much stuff, it’s difficult to find them all in decent quality. I’ll try to find the albums you requested and will post them as soon as I do. Klaus Schulze is new to me, but I will also try to find the album for you.

13 03 2009
quietmusic

@Orgcha
Ottmar Liebert is a favorite of mine as well. I used to listen to a great deal of smooth jazz, and his stuff always perked my ears up. I’ve heard of Luna Negra, but never heard anything of theirs. If you would be willing to upload the albums to rapidshare, I would be more than willing to post them for you, and give you full credit for the posting =-).

13 03 2009
quietmusic

@Dawnz
Thank you! Your idea for a visitors book is excellent! I’ll try to implement that asap. In regards to the music posted here, you’re entirely correct that this is my personal music. Origionally, this blog started just as a central place for my friends to be able to download the albums we talk about on IM’s and such. Surprisingly enough, it’s managed to garner some interest, and so here we are today. One of the things that turly astonishes me is the simple fact that there are still people in the world that are decent. I know that probably sounds fairly jaded on my part, but unfortunately, I have the displeasure of dealing with angry people on a fairly regular basis, and so this website has really helped me personally, just by reading how much people enjoy good music. So in reality, I should be thanking each and every person that takes the time to comment. I really look forward to reading about people’s enjoyment because of what I’ve shared. =-).

@MusicMad
I’ve grabbed the file and will listen to it later this evening. Got one of my favorites playing at the moment – DakSa – and don’t want to stop listening, lol. I’m also toying with the idea of starting a page specifically for your project, so that the comments don’t get mixed up. Let me know what you think please. Also, in regards to the email, you might want to check your spam folder, it’s possible that it’s in there. You will recognize the address as soon as you see it.

@Everyone Else
If you wish to download the file, please do so. Any and all help in defining the music on it would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Again

I voted in favour of Tangerine Dream uploading especially those albums unavailable on the net.

I also would like to ask you about three albums by “Rolf Trostel” albums which are:

ROLF TROSTEL – Two Faces
ROLF TROSTEL – Der Prophet
ROLF TROSTEL – Recall Level

Best wishes

Sorry I coudn’t help you identify your songs, but Im just posting this to let you know, that your ‘my fav’ is suddenly one of my fav’s as well. I will keep tracking the updates hoping someone can identify it, because I too am dying to hear the rest of it! However if none of us can identify it, and you find out, please update us as well :-)

>>QuietMusic,
I cant thank you enough for this web-site. As per your reccomendation to check out Era, and I did, and it has left me stunned when I saw the music video to Era-Divano. Just when I realized my efforts to find awesome music was exhausted, I have found your site!

@Reza
Hi there! Thank you very much for voting. As you might be aware of, Tangerine Dream is an incredibly prolific group, and to date, they have put out over 100 albums! Needless to say, if there is enough interest, not only will that take an incredibly long time to upload, but will also be difficult for the free users of rapidshare. I’m certainly open to suggestions in terms of other file hosting services that would allow for larger files.

In regards to Rolf Trostel, I’ve never heard of him, but will try my best to find those albums.

Thanks again for commenting!

In regards to the Steve Haun albums, the ones that I’ve posted are the only ones I was able to find. However, I’ve not given up hope on finding “Inside The Sky”. As to Midori, I’ve got 8 albums uploading right now, so keep your eye’s peeled. =-)

It’s great to hear how much you enjoy Brian Crain. I’ve managed to find Sienna and one other album by him, so will be posting them later this afternoon, after they have been uploaded. Thank you very much for the compliment on my taste of music! There have been a couple of people that have said similar things, but not sure quite how to respond, lol. When I choose music, it should have a good tune and be able to speak to me on multiple levels. Beyond that, I couldn’t for the life of me explain how my choices are made =_).

Awesome!… You have an amazing blog and giving an great service to the comunity that love relaxing music.
It would be nice to have some of Anugama. New age-style sense of self-exploration and a broad palette of ambient electronic sounds. Specially from the title Healing and Aquarius, harmonious compositions by Anugama, which have especially positive effects on the soul.

Thank you very much!!

Thank you so much! Once I’m done with this whole moving ordeal, I will see what can be done about finding some Anugama. I’ve heard some of their stuff, but not a great deal, so am looking forward to seeing what can be found =_).

Hey, thanks for posting all this great music. I am really into Ryan Farish and Blue Stone. :D

Speaking of Farish, his new album, “Movement in Light”, will be out in about three weeks. Do you plan to post it here?

You’re most welcome for Richard Burmer. I’ve got some Paul Schwartz just haven’t had the time to upload it yet. Will most likely happen after my move to the new house. I’ve never heard of Liquid Electricity, but will add it to my searchlist. I’ll also try to find more David Arkenstone for you =-).

Yesterday I discovered this link and I’m very glad for what I found. Congratulations, this is excitement.
My surprise is that there is no presence of Gheorghe Zamfir (I know his music since 1982 and, in my opinion is one of the most relaxing I found up to now).
Another type of music that I miss in your extensive collection is the Pan Pipes from Andes and Celtic music from Galicia (Spain).
Since your collection is so extensive, I will take my time to try to know new musicians that up to now were unknown for me.

Thanks again for all.

Hi there and welcome! Glad you found us! I would really like to thank you for the suggestion of adding some Zamfir! I only currently have his greatest hits album, but for some reason have not uploaded it. I’ve got it zipped up and queued for uploading, so hopefully it will be done in a couple of hours.

Unfortunately, the only artists that I’m aware of that play the Panpipes are Zamfir and Medwyn Goodall. If you could suggest some specific artist, I will try to find them and then upload them =_).

Thanks again for the “reminder” and hope you enjoy your stay here!

You can count on more albums being uploaded =-). Today and tomorrow are going to be incredibly hectic for me, as that is when the actual move itself is going to happen. But once I get settled into the new house, there will be regular updates =_).

This is a wonderful Blog QuietMusic!

So many musics I had forgotten and some I did not have. It is good to find them again… like an old friend that I was missing the company of.

I wish you the best of luck in your move to a new location and adventure.

REQUEST:
Have any Tim Story? Looking especially for some of his most recent stuff (very hard to find). Have several of his old albums if you want to add to this grand collection.

@dx
Thank you so much for the compliment! It’s always nice to hear that the blog is appreciated =_). I know what you mean in terms of finding old friends, lol. Many of the requests so far really took me down memory lane. And that is usually a very good thing.

The move went about as well as could be expected. Besides the part with me hurting my back, lol. Glad the heavy stuff is over, just the unpacking to go now =_).

I don’t have anything by him, but I’m more than willing to put him on my searchlist =_).

Thank you once again for taking the time to comment. Looking forward to your observations and ideas!

Thanks for putting this web site together, so much beautiful music. It would be so nice if you could find “Melancolie” by Michael Hoppe, this composer produces so much soul reaching music.

Hi there and welcome! Steven Halpern is one of the pioneers of the deep space genre within the New Age area. You would probably really enjoy his music. It’s incredibly minimalistic, and yet somehow manages to tap into what seems like other plains of awareness. Here’s a direct link to the one album of his that I’ve posted – https://quietmusic.wordpress.com/2009/04/11/steven-halpern-gifts-of-the-angels/. I have him on my searchlist, and will hopefully be adding more of his music soon.

Here’s one I have been looking for: In Search of Angels on Windham Hill. It includes some wonderful pieces by Tim Story and Therese Schroeder-Shecker, among others.

Let me take a moment and say thank you for making Brian Crain available. I heard his “Song of the Heart” on Sirius XM’s Spa “Good Acoustics” program a few months ago and heard it again replaying one of many programs I have recorded on our DVR (Dish Network) and did a Google search and found your website.

I wanted to take a couple of moments and pass on a couple of places that might help in others who are searching for their taste in music:

1) Hearts of Space – http://www.hos.com
2) Last FM – http://www.last.fm

Personally, I enjoy acoustic new age more than anything else, but will catch a track or two of Dilate, Llewellyn and Jonn Serrie. For those of you who have either DirecTV or Dish Network and DVRs, it is a wonderful way to enjoy what we love about this genre.

I don’t mean to ask a dumb question, but is there a way to upload music to this website; for example, I have A Moment’s Peace by Rumbel & Tingstad and a DVD Audio of Yanni.

I forgot to add in my last post those of us who are familiar with the alt.binaries.sounds. mp3.new-age newsgroup. Many ISPs no longer carry the alt.binary groups, but there are services that do, though they require a subscription.

I apologize for the typo on my last name; we’re on and the same.

Unfortunately, as of right now, there is no way for you to be able to personally post here. However, if you would like, I would be more than willing to post the CD for you. I’ll be sure to give you all the credit for it =_). As to the DVD audio of Yanni, I would prefer to leave that one alone for the moment. Once the portal is setup, then most definitely, but right now, would like to keep the blog as purely cd based music.

I see that you were until recently unfamiliar with Jon Mark, and that you don’t have his masterpiece, The Standing Stones of Callanish! I bought it originally in cassette form, and then bought the CD when it first came out in the late ’80s. In fact, my CD case looks pretty sad…. but the music is still gorgeous! I know you’ll enjoy this and play it a lot.

Well.. I am extremely happy with your efficiency and prompt response.. I would like to see if there is any chance for you to upload Windham Hill´s Retrospective on Montreaux.. or any of their albums.. I´ve been looking for them, but have not been able to find them… Thank you very much!

@Lady Jane
Thank you so much! Downloading it now, and will repost it as soon as I’m able to upload it. Have a rather large upload going at the moment, so it might not be done until the morning. When I was introduced to Jon Mark, “The Standing Stones of Callanish” kept being brought up in different views, but I couldn’t find it anywhere to save my soul. Can’t thank you enough!

@Thien Ly
Hi there and welcome to QuietMusic! I would first like to apologize for the issues with the links. As you might have read, there has been a problem with my RS account. We will be opening a new portal within the next couple of weeks, so hopefully you will be able to enjoy the music you find there soon. As to other artists like Omar Akram, he is very unique in terms of how is music sounds. But the ones most similar to him would probably be Davol, Curtis Mcdonald, Bernward Koch & Kevin Kern. If you like Omar Akram, you will probably like them as well =-). Hope this helped!
